Deep Tissue Massage uses firmer pressure to reach deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to release tension and allow for freer range of motion. This technique is used to break down knots and relieve pressure points throughout the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective bodywork method for releasing tissue adhesions and chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive movement, and past lingering injuries.
This modality may focus on specific areas of tension in the body, often alleviating chronic pain symptoms. For those who need more intense bodywork to relieve tightness and pain, deep tissue is a great treatment option.

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) Including Myofascial Release & Trigger Point Therapy
Neuromuscular Therapy & Myofascial Release is a specialized medical modality and an effective treatment for chronic pain or muscular trauma resulting from an accident, injury, or strain caused by overuse. NMT uses targeted treatment focusing on specific areas of tension by using sustained pressure, often loosening adhesions in fascia (connective tissue) and releasing trigger points in muscle tissue. Through deep pressure and friction techniques NMT helps alleviate pain and correct postural issues by addressing muscle spasms and nerve compression. It aims to balance the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. This modality also incorporates movement with stretching to assist mobility and range of motion, breaking down the cycle of pain and dysfunction.

Prenatal & Postnatal Massage
Specifically for Pregnant & Postpartum Women
Prenatal Massage is a safe and supportive therapeutic bodywork tailored for the needs of expectant women. This modality is a body, mind, spirit approach to pregnancy massage as well as postpartum massage. It is a relaxing, nurturing, therapeutic treatment with gentle and comforting touch. This entails a comfortable and secure side-lying position supported by pillows to avoid pressure on the abdomen, lower back, and pelvic joints.
Prenatal Massage is a great way to relieve everyday tension and stress, while easing the general aches and pains common during pregnancy. Massage can also alleviate headaches, reduce fatigue, relieve nausea, decrease swelling, increase circulation, promote sleep, improve mental health, decrease stress levels, increase immunity, enhance overall relaxation, increase flow of nutrients to the placenta, and calm an active baby.
Receiving regular massage leading up to birthing time can especially help to reduce pain and assist with an easier labor.
Massage Therapy is an important self-care practice throughout pregnancy.

Note: Prenatal massage can be performed safely during any trimester; being certified in Nurturing the Mother Pregnancy Massage, I feel confident performing bodywork on expectant women during any stage of pregnancy. However, as a precaution, if you have undergone fertility treatment or assistance to conceive, or if you’ve experienced miscarriages, it is best to wait until after the first trimester (14 weeks) to receive massage. The gentle techniques used for pregnancy massage cannot cause harm, this is just to ensure peace of mind for the mother to be.
If you have medical conditions or are deemed a high-risk pregnancy, a doctor’s approval note may be required before beginning therapeutic treatment.
The health of you and your baby is my top priority.
Postnatal Care Massage
Considered the 4th trimester, the postpartum period (the time immediately after giving birth and up until 4 months after) is regarded as an important time for the woman to continue receiving massage therapy. A woman’s body goes through immense physical changes during pregnancy and birth, which can take time to normalize; massage can ease this process, facilitate healing, and help return the woman’s body to its pre-pregnancy state.
A massage is recommended within the first week after giving birth, helping to relieve sore and achy muscles.
Other benefits include:
helps relieve tension from the birth process, while helping the mother regain vital energy
supports fluid balancing
supporting and enhancing the realignment process, focusing on the pelvis and ribs
encourages pelvic and abdominal organs to return to pre-pregnancy positions
aids in the process of the uterus returning to its normal size
releases shoulder, neck, and arm tension from the care and feeding of an infant
alleviates postpartum depression and anxiety
During this special time, new parents are welcome to bring their newborn to treatment sessions.
